Sameer Dattani Biography

Sameer Dattani, also known as Dhyan is an Indian actor who appears in Bollywood and Kannada language movies. He started his career in the mid-1990’s with Hindi movies. Dattani started his Hindi film career with Rajshri Productions’ Uuf Kya Jaadoo Mohabbat Hai which was a box office failure. During 2000’s he appeared in Bollywood flicks like Corporate, Well Done Abba, I Hate Luv Stories, Pyar Mein Twist and Life Mein Kabhie Kabhie in which he played supporting roles. He played lead role in Mukhbir, directed by Mani Shankar in 2008. But the movie was a box office failure. He played the role of an undercover police informer. He debut Tamil films playing lead role in Kutty opposite Shreya Saran. The movie was released in 2010.

He was born in Mumbai in January 27, 1982. He made his film entry through Hindi movies and later moved to south Indian cinema. At present he is active in both Bollywood and south Indian film industry. He debut south Indian film industry in 2001 with Kannada movie, Nanna Preethiya Hudugi which earned him positive responses from critics. Monalisa and Amruthadhare are other noted Kannada movies.

Shyam Benegal's Well Done Abba is one of his critically acclaimed movies in which he played a pivot role of Arif Ali, a symbolic take on the youth of India today. The movie won several awards at National awards and international film festivals. Same year he appeared in commercial hit, I Hate Luv Storys in which he played the role of Sonam Kapoor’s fiancée. Sameer is married to his girlfriend, Ritika Jolly at Dehradun in 2011.
