Saji Paravoor Biography

Sanjeev N. R better known as Saji Paravoor was a young film director associated with Malayalam cinema in the recent times. His first and only film as an independent director was Janakan released in year 2010. The movie starred Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi playing pivot roles, and the movie fared average at box office. The movie marked the acting debut of actress Priyaa Lal, who played Suresh Gopi’s daughter’s role in the film. He started his career as an Assistant Director under famous film director Lenin Rajendran, before making his first full-fledged film. He passed away in the early morning of March 8, 2016 following brain hemorrhage. He was 48 years old.

Sanjeev N. R is his real name. He was born in Paravoor of Kollam district, the place known for backwaters and big rivers. He was married to Sreedevi, and the couple had one son Anandhan. He started his career as an assistant Director with Lenin Rajendran in the early 2000s, and worked with him in many movies released during this time. As a full-fledged director, he marked his debut with social drama, Janakan released in year 2010. The movie witnessed Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi sharing a common frame, though for a few scenes.

Later he worked as an associate director in many Malayalam movies. He collapsed at his house at Kavanad in Kollam after his pressure shot up in the late evening of March 7, 2016 and died the next day in the wee hours. He was survived by his wife and son. He was only 48. He was working with Roshan Andrews as chief associate director in Kunchakko Boban starrer 'School Bus', when death took him away.
