Sahithya Jagannathan Biography

Sahithya Jagannathan is a successful model from Tamil Nadu, who won Vivel Miss Chennai competition in 2009. After a flurry of shows and endorsements, this student of Journalism from MOP Vaishnav College, entered the international beauty pageant sector by participating in the 23rd World Miss University pageant in Seoul in 2010 and won the Miss Speech title. Sahithya made her acting debut in Gautham Menon's bilingual film Neethane En Ponvasantham in a supporting role and finally bagged her first lead role - Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam (2014). Andhadhi (2015) is her latest film, where she portrayed a police officer.

Sahithya was born into a family where kids are groomed to be either doctor or an engineer. She was born in Chennai in 1989. She had a brief spell of work experience at designer Rehane's store soon after school life, as she was interested in clothes and dressing. Actually she thought of choosing a career in designing, not modelling. Later she signed up for the grooming classes for Miss Chennai and won the pageant. She was a student of Journalism from MOP Vaishnav College, while participating in Miss Chennai competition in 2009.

In her successful modelling career she has done ramp walks for many leading fashion designers of the country like Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Rehane, Ritu Kumar etc and has endorsed brands like Volkswagen, Wrangler, Reebok etc. Though she was shortlisted for Femina Miss India 2014's Top 25 contestants, she was not able to reach the next level. She won the subtitle - Monarch Universal Femina Miss Lifestyle during Miss India contest. Now she is into film field and has appeared in a few Tamil movies, started with supporting roles. A “nerd” in class and a “ bindaas girl” at parties, Sahithya loves being different people.
