Sadhvi Ritambhara Biography

Sadhvi Ritambhara was born at Doraha town in Ludhiana district Of Punjab. Born as Nisha in the home of sweetmakers she attained the state of Nirvana at an age of 16,  when she met her village was visited by Yug Purush Maha Mandaleshwar Swami Paramanand Giri Ji Maharaj and became his follower. She came to his ashram in Haridwar and traveled all over India and learned the art of oration. Swami Ji conferred the title of Sadhvi on to Nisha and she became Sadhvi Rithambara. Soon she enetred into public life and joined RSS, the Sangh Parivar as a member of the Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, the women's arm of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Later she became one of the important member of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). She is said to be married with Amit Tiwari.

Sadhvi Ritambhara the founding chairperson of Durga Vahini (Army of Durga), which is the women's wing of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Ritamhara is popular for her Ram Katha and other Hindu scriptures narrations in India and many other countries where she visits at the invitation of her devotees. Sadhvi Ritambhara is a co-accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case along with other VHP and BJP members. And that was not the only instance she was accused but on many occasions found guilty of delivering speeches inciting against Muslims and persons and parties speaking against Hindus.

Sadhvi Ritambhara alongwith Uma Bharati and Vijayaraje Scindia was one of the three women leaders  along with sixty-eight others were named by the Liberhan Commission that probed the Babri Masjid demolition held Sadhvi Ritambhara along with sixty-eight others for their role in the demolition of the Babri Mosque. Sadhvi is also the co-founder of the Param Shakti Peeth, the Vatsalyagram, a unique program running successfully near Mathura in UP, which is a combination of an orphanage, an old-age home and a shelter home for widows.
