Sadhana Singh, best known for playing lead role in Hindi movie – Nadiya Ke Paar is a popular television and film actress associated with Hindi entertainment industry. She played several lead and supporting roles in Bollywood films in the 1980s and early 1990s, and currently most active with television roles than movies. Nadiya Ke Paar in 1982 was her debut role, where she played the lead role of Gunja. The movie was a commercial hit. Later she was seen in Bollywood movies of 1980s such as Sasural, Piya Milan, Sur Sangam, Tulsi, Parivar, Falak, Aurat Aur Patthar, Yeh Kaisa Farz, Papi Sansar etc.

Sadhana Singh played supporting roles in Hindi television soaps since early 2000s, and her noted roles include – Saarrthi, Pyar Zindagi Hai, Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha, Ek Shyaam, Prratima, Phulwa, Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, Kabhi To Milenge, Hamari Sister Didi, Ghar Jamai, Chalti Ka Naam Antakshar, Santoshi Maa etc. She is married to film producer Rajkumar Shahabad and has two children. Her daughter Sheena Shahabadi appears in Bollywood and south Indian movies. Her father-in-law Vishwanath Prasad Shahabadi has also produced many Bhojpuri films.

Sadhana hails from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Her ancestors belong to Punjab. She started her film career with the 1982 Rajashri productions - Nadiya Ke Paar. The film was later remade in 1994 as Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. In her debut flick, Sadhana played the memorable lead role of Gunja, an innocent village belle who falls in love with her brother-in-law’s younger brother, played by Sachin. The movie is still remembered for its charm, loving chemistry by its lead pair and also beautiful songs. Despite gaining popularity through debut film, she couldn’t earn big name in Bollywood.
