Rukhsar Rehman Biography

Rukhsar Rehman is a noted Indian actress of Bollywood and television. She is now married to Faruk Kabir, actor cum director. They got married in 2010 after 6 long years of courtship. Rukhsar portrays character roles most in Bollywood movies and much awaited movie PK is her next release. Bhaskar Bharti, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Aur pyar ho gaya and Tumhari Paakhi are some of her television roles. Currently she plays the role of Anjli Purohit in Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya on ZEE TV. She played character roles in Shaitaan, Knock out, D, Sarkar, God Tussi Great Ho, Bheja Fry 2, Allah Ke Banday etc. Allah Ke Banday was directed by her husband Faruk Kabir and he portrayed the lead role as well.

She originally hailed from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. She was born in 1973. She came to Mumbai with her parents to pursue her dreams as an actress of Bollywood. However her first three films - Yaad Rakhegi Duniya (1992), Inteha Pyar Ki (1993) and Jeena Nahin Bin Tere (1993) flopped at box office. She played the lead role in Hindi remake of south Indian blockbuster Geetanjali, where she reprised the role of Girija Shettar. Aditya Pancholi played the male lead. However the film was a major flop. After the major setback she returned to her city to complete graduation.

She also assisted her father in his garments export business, who later encouraged her to join fashion designing. In 1994 she got married and gave birth to a daughter. However the marriage didn’t survive and she got divorced. She returned back to Mumbai once again and got active in television and cinema, portraying supporting roles. She is married to Faruk Kabir, 10 years junior to her.
