Rockline Venkatesh Biography

Rockline Venkatesh is a Kannada film actor, producer and distributor. He founded Rockline Productions which has produced more than 30 movies till now. He co-produced Salman Khan starrer - Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which went on to become one of the highest grossers of Indian cinema. The movie made on a budget of 90 crore Indian rupees collected more than 625 crores and also received National award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Killing Veerappan is his latest production venture.

Rockline Venkatesh is a native of Bangalore, Karnataka. He started his film journey as a stuntman for Kannada films, followed by supporting and negative roles. Later with the mid-1990s, he turned a producer who produces TV serials. He started his production venture - Rockline Productions in 1996, and since then he has been producing many successful movies for the past two decades. He has also remade several hit movies to Kannada and other regional languages. In fact, his biggest hit as a film producer, Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s main plot is inspired from a Kannada film, Kallarali Hoovagi. Majority of his Kannada films have been the remakes of other south Indian language hit films, Lingaa, Power, Manasaare, Super, Drama etc being a few exceptions.

Apart from Kannada films, he has also produced movies belonging to Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. Preethse, Preethsodh Thappa, Yaare Neenu Cheluve, Ajay, Mourya, Diggajaru, Dakota Express etc are some of the major hits of Rockline Productions. Rockline has worked with many superstars belonging to different languages – Salman Khan, Rajinikanth, V. Ravichandran, Vishnuvardhan, Shankar Nag, Upendra, Silambarasan etc. Salman Khan starrer - Bajrangi Bhaijaan is the second highest grosser among Indian films.
