Rishi (kannada Actor) Biography

Rishi is an upcoming film actor of Kannada movies, who plays lead roles on screen. He shot to fame playing the lead role opposite Shraddha Srinath in 2017 Kannada suspense comedy thriller film directed by Simple Suni, Operation Alamelamma. The film was a major hit. His role as Parmi bagged him SIIMA Award for Best Actor in a leading Role - Debutant (Male) – Kannada. Earlier he has appeared in an uncredited role in 2014 film, Ka and 2016 film Money Honey Shani, where his name was credited as Monish Nagaraj. Now 6 films are in under production stage and expected to release in 2019 – Kavaludaari, Sarvajanikarige Suvarnavakasha, Flip Flop, Daari Thappisuva Devaru, Ramanavatara and Galipata 2.

Rishi was born in Bangalore, Karnataka, and brought up in Mysore. His father K C Nagaraj is a banker and his mother Anala Nagaraj is a home maker. He spent his childhood and younger days in Mysore where he completed his schooling followed by engineering studies from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering. He specialized in Civil Engineering. He got into amateur theatre while he was doing his engineering studies, and since then he dreamt to become an actor. While at college, he was fully involved in cultural events and was in charge of the dramatics team at his college.

While at college, he also started his professional career as a radio jockey. After studies he got a corporate sector job through campus selection. However he couldn’t stick on to his job too long. He also had a brief career as a businessman and entrepreneur before he joined television. Mahaparva in 2014 marked his television debut, followed by Anuroopa in 2016, and then switched over to big screen.
