Renganaath Ravee Biography

Renganaath Ravee is a sound designer and sound editor, best known for his association with Bollywood and Malayalam cinema. He has also worked in Tamil, Nepali, Marathi and Telugu film industry in sound department. In 2018, he won Kerala state award for best sound design for his work in Ee.Ma.Yau, a satire drama film. He has earlier won the same award for the film, Ennu Ninte Moideen. His association with Jayaraj for critically acclaimed and National award film of 2018, Bhayanakam is yet another major work in the recent times. Amen, Uncle, Theevandi, Mohanlal, Street Lights, Ramaleela, Villain, Angamaly Diaries, The Great Father, Veeram, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Anuraga Karikkin Vellam, Pullikkaran Staraa, Darvinte Parinamam, Ennu Ninte Moideen, Shutter etc are some of his major works in Malayalam.

He also owns some hit films in Bollywood film industry. In fact he started off his active career in Bollywood and a few more regional language films before switching to Malayalam films. He worked as a sound designer/sound editor for Bollywood films such as Dhoom 3, Wazir, Lahore, Bang Bang, Aladin, Jhootha Hi Sahi, Agyat, Phas Gaye Re Obama, Luck, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, Ekk Deewana Tha, Love Story 2050, Bhoothnath etc and Indian English films like The Great Indian Butterfly. He is associated with film industry as a sound engineer for more than a decade.

This Mumbai based artist of Malayali origin was born on May 5, 1981. He has worked in over 80 feature films which include languages such as English, Hindi, Malayalam, Nepali, Telugu and Tamil, apart from several short films and documentaries. Quite interestingly, this successful sound engineer from Bollywood film industry has no formal training in this field. He started his career as a sound recordist at K. J. Yesudas Tharangini Records Studios. In 2006 he shifted to Mumbai and worked as a sound editor under different renowned artists of the field, before starting with his individual career. He also worked under Resul Pookutty. He marked his Malayalam debut in the year 2010, with the film, Naayakan.
