Relangi Venkata Ramaiah Biography 
Relangi Venkata Ramaiah was a leading comedian of Telugu film industry who worked from the silent era of 1930s to his death in the early 1970s. In a career spanning to about 4 decades, he partnered with actors like Girija, Suryakantham and Ramana Reddy to give some hilarious comedy scenes during the golden era of Telugu film industry. Shortly called Relangi, scripts were written for the combination scenes of this actor with Girija, Suryakantham and Ramana Reddy to entertain audience. Gunasundari Katha, Missamma, Mayabazar, Nartanasala, Donga Ramudu, Iddaru Mitrulu, Chaduvukunna Ammayilu, Appu Chesi Pappu Koodu, Velugu Needalu, Vipra Narayana,Lava Kusha ,Kula Gothralu and Preminchi Choodu are his most notable films as an actor. He played lead hero opposite Anjali Devi in Pakkinti Ammayi in 1953.
He was born on 13 August 1910 in Ravulapalem of East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. He was brought up in Kakinada. Relangi didn’t show interest in studies and was interested in acting. He was also a harmonium player and a professional Harikatha performer before his entry to movies. He started off with theater, mostly portraying female roles on stage. He made his film debut with the film Sri Krishna Thulaabaaram in 1935 at the age of 25. Since then he got associated with Telugu cinema till his death aged 65.
He also worked as an assistant director in the 1930s till his big break through the movie – Gollabhama (1947). He acted as a comedian in Vindhyarani the following year which got well noticed. Since then he established himself as one of the leading comedians of the field. He got associated with Vijaya Films Production Company in the year 1950 and appeared in all movies released under this banner.
