Ravikant Singh Biography

Ravikant Singh is an Indian cricketer who was a member of the U 19 cricket team that won the World Cup 2012. He is a right handed batsman and right arm medium pace bowler.

 

Ravikant Singh was born on 18th March 1994 in Konnagar near Kolkata in West Bengal. His father’s name is Premnath Singh and his mother’s name is Nirmala Singh. He started playing cricket from his age of seven. He used to travel all the way to Kolkata from his home which has a distance of 30 kilometers to get trained at the Sourav Gangulys Videocon Academy. He was a student of Prafulla Chandra College.

 

He has one elder brother named Rishikant who is also interested in cricket. He used to watch his brother taking lessons at the local Friends Union club and slowly developed a love for the game. He was initially coached by Kalyan Ghosh and later he got advanced training at Uttarpara. He played his List A debut on 1st October 2012. He has played for Bengal team, Cricket Association of Bengal XI and India Under 19 team.

 

He was called into the U19 Indian team for world cup in the last minute when Mohsin Sayyed got injured. He understood his responsibility and finished up with 12 wickets in that tournament.
