Ravi Patel Biography

Ravi Patel is an US based actor of Gujarati origin. His full name is Ravi Vasant Patel. He appears in TV shows and movies. He scripted and directed the award winning documentary film - Meet the Patels, aside his sister Geeta Patel, who is also a writer and director. Associated with entertainment industry since 2006, he has completed one decade in this field and he has appeared in Boys & Girls Guide To Getting Down, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Scrubs, Transformers, Past Life, The Last Hurrah, Five, Meet the Patels, Grandfathered and Master of None. Patel is the co-founder of This Bar Saves Lives which distributes one package of Plumpy'Nut for every granola bar it sold. Noted actors Ryan Devlin and Todd Grinnell are also associated with it.

Ravi Vasant Patel was born on December 18, 1978 in Freeport, Illinois U.S. His father is a financial consultant and his mother, a real estate agent and both are of Indian origin. His younger years were spent in Charlotte, North Carolina where he completed his education. He worked as an investment banker after studies. Later he co-founded popular poker magazine All In while living in LA and it marked his new career beginning. He also got associated with a few standup acts entertaining audiences.

He started giving auditions which marked his acting debut. He also appeared in a few commercials. He has acted in more than 70 commercials. Since 2006 he is associated with television and independent films. He played the role of Rajiv in 2006 independent film, The Boys & Girls Guide to Getting Down, which won five independent film awards at the Los Angeles Film Festival 2006. He along with sister scripted and directed Meet the Patels which earned him appreciation.
