Ravi Kumar (football) Biography

Ravi Kumar is an Indian professional footballer who hails from UP. He plays primarily as a goalkeeper for Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League. He is a member of National team who also plays for Indian Super League - professional football league in India. He has appeared for India U19 and India U23 for national team. He has previously played for several football clubs of India such as Pailan Arrows, Sporting Goa, North East United FC, Minerva Punjab FC, Delhi Dynamos etc, and he got into professional career since 2008.

Ravi Kumar hails from Uttar Pradesh. He was associated with Tata Football Academy during 2008–2012, thus marking his professional career beginning. Kumar signed for Pailan Arrows in 2010 and made his professional debut in the I-League on 2 February 2012 against reigning champions Salgaocar at the Salt Lake Stadium. The match drew at 0-0, clean-sheet.

In 2013 he was signed by Sporting Goa and made 36 appearances in next 4 years till 2017. In between, he played on loan for two teams in two different seasons - Delhi Dynamos in 2015 and Minerva Punjab FC in FC. He didn’t play any matches for Delhi Dynamos. He was signed by Minerva Punjab on loan from Sporting Goa for 2016-17 I-League.

On 23 July 2017, Kumar was picked by Northeast United FC in Hero ISL draft. He made two appearances. His international debut happened in 2011 when he joined India U19 and played three matches. He was a part of India U23 in 2015 and made three appearances.
