Rashmika Mandanna Biography

Rashmika Mandanna is a model and film actress, known for playing lead roles in Kannada films. She made her debut in films in 2016 with Kannada film, Kirik Party. The movie was a big hit and she earned SIIMA Award for Best Debut Actress. She also received a nomination at IIFA Utsavam Awards for Best Actress. She is currently engaged to film’s hero Rakshith Shetty in 2017. Samyuktha Hegde who played Rakshith Shetty’s love interest and second lead in the film also marked her film debut with Kirik Party.  Roles of both these debut actresses were well appreciated. Anjani Putra and Chamak are her Kannada releases later, and she marked her Telugu debut through Chalo in 2018. Now she has a handful of lead roles in both these film industries.

She hails from Virajpet, Karnataka. She was born in 1996. She holds bachelor's degree in Psychology, Journalism and English Literature. Rashmika began modelling in 2014, which paved her way to Kannada films. She won the Clean & Clear Fresh Face of India title in 2014, and also remained the brand ambassador. The casing team of Kirik Party happened to see her photos, and that’s how she was offered the lead role of the movie. She made an impressive debut with the movie, and received positive reviews from all corners. She met Rakshith Shetty in the film sets, and after the movie’s release, they got engaged in 2017.

Rashmika was listed in the 'Bangalore Times 25 Most Desirable Women in 2014'. In 2017, she acted in Anjani Putra and Chamak, and both these roles were well appreciated. She got a nomination at Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Kannada for the role of Khushi she played in Chamak. She is currently working in Kannada film, Yajamana and also three Telugu films - Geetha Govindham, Dear Comrade and an untitled project starring Nani and Akkineni Nagarjuna.
