Ranvir Shorey is a successful actor of Bollywood known for portraying both serious and comic roles. He appears in supporting role in most of his movies. He is married to talented actress of Bollywood and Bengali cinema - Konkona Sen Sharma. Film maker – actress Aparna Sen is his mother-in-law. Ranvir is known for portraying roles in Bollywood movies like Mithya, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Jism, Ek choti is love story, Traffic signal, Bheja fry, Lakshya and Fashion. He made film debut through 2002 controversial movie - Ek choti is love story, where he played the role of Manisha Koirala’s boyfriend.

He belongs to Jalandhar, Punjab. He began his acting debut with Ek choti is love story in the year 2002. Following the controversies started by Manisha Koirala asking court order to stop the release of the movie, the movie became a huge hit at box office. Though his role was short, Shorey’s role was noticed. His first major break in the industry happened in the form of classic comedy - Khosla Ka Ghosla released in the year 2006. There was no turning back after that. Khosla Ka Ghosla placed him as a comic actor of Bollywood with perfect timing. He repeated his success in the following commercial hits like Pyaar Ke Side Effects and Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.

He played lead role in the commercial and critical success – Mithya in the year 2008. "Traffic Signal" and "Bheja Fry" are his other major performances. He has been associated with Rajat Kapoor and Vinay Pathak in many movies and both are his close friends too. He married his co-actor Konkona Sen Sharma in the year 2010 and the couple has one son. He has earlier dated actress Pooja Bhatt before got engaged to Konkana in 2008. In the 2012 release, Heroine, he played the role of a film director with a comic touch.
