Ramkumar Biography

Ramkumar is a film actor and producer associated with Kannada film industry. He is the son-in-law of most celebrated actor of Kannada cinema - Rajkumar. Ramkumar is married to the youngest daughter of matinee idol. Ramkumar is the son of noted film actor and producer of silent film – Pushpaka Vimana - Shringar Nagaraj. Cine stars - Shivarajkumar, Puneeth Rajakumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar are his brother-in-laws. Ramkumar has been a chocolate hero for romantic movies in Kannada cinema in the 1990s. He has completed 25 years in the cine industry.

 

Ramkumar was born into a traditional goldsmith family. His father Shringar Nagaraj has worked as a goldsmith and photographer before his foray to films. Ramkumar was brought up in a filmy background and he later married the daughter of one of the most celebrated stars of Indian cinema – Rajkumar. He made his acting debut with 1990 action film Aavesha. He was paired with another debutant Shivaranjini in this film. The movie starred Shankar Nag, Geetha and Bhavya in pivot roles. Since then in a career spanning to 25 years he has appeared in more than 40 films. With the year 2006 he ventured into film production as well. He turned producer with the film Pandavaru (2006), the movie in which he acted as well.

 

He was attracted to film field since younger days. After his film debut in 1990, he played lead and supporting roles in movies. He appeared as a romantic chocolate hero during his early days and later moved to mature roles. The musical hit - Gejje Naada in 1993 was one of his early hits as a solo hero. Kavya, Thayi Illada Thavaru, Thavarina Thottilu and Gaaya are his other major hits. Though he couldn’t achieve the success of his brother-in-laws, he is definitely a popular actor of Kannada screen.
