Ramki Biography

Ramki is a Tamil film actor known for lead and supporting roles. He played hero’s role in numerous Tamil movies in the late 1990s and he is married to actress Nirosha, with whom he has been paired for the movies like ‘Sendhoora Poovae’, ‘Paravaigal Palavidham’ etc. Nirosha is the daughter of legendary actor of yesterdays – M. R. Radha. She took a break from the industry after their marriage in 1995. The couple has no children. After a hiatus break from the industry in the 1990s, the couple has returned back. Nirosha is busy with both television serials and movies, portraying character roles while Ramki is associated with Tamil cinema. He played memorable roles in the recent releases like Maasani and Biriyani. Most recently the couple launched a new restaurant as well.

Ramki was born in 1962 in Sankaranattham, Sattur. Chinna Poove Mella Pesu in 1987 marked his onscreen debut, where he played lead role opposite his future wife Nirosha. Later they together appeared in numerous movies as lead pair and love blossomed between them, resulting in their marriage. He is the son in law of noted film personality – M. R. Radha and brother in law of popular actress of 1980s - Raadhika, who is married to popular actor Sarathkumar.

A few of the popular roles of Ramki include his debut movie - Chinna Poove Mella Pesu, followed by Thangachi, Inaindha Kaigal, Amma Pillai, Athma, Chinna Madam, Vellaiya Thevan, Senthoora Poove, Irandil Ondru, Pennbuthi Pin Buthi, Maya bazaar etc. He along with Nirosha appeared in both the versions of Senthoora Poove (Tamil and Telugu). His 1991 movie, Kuttrapathirikai was released in 2007. With late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's assassination and the Sri Lankan civil war as its backdrop, the censor board refused its release in 1991 and it got finally released after 15 years and a few scenes have been censored too.
