“The queen of controversies” – it’s the best title that can be given to this model cum film actress. From the day she has joined the industry and got the name, ‘Item girl’ she is in news one after another. She has acted in a few south Indian movies also.

She debut Bollywood in a less significant role in the movie Agnichakra, but she used the name Ruhi Sawant. The movie was a big flop and her role went unnoticed. Again she did small roles in big and small budget movies like Jis des mein ganga rahthi hai, Joru ka gulam, Mein hoon na, Masthi, Na tum jaano na hum, Om, Dum, Bad boys, Paisa vasool and Yeh raasthe hai pyar ke. Her item song ‘Mirchi’ in Zayed Khan’s debut movie brought her to limelight and offers came pouring in. Her music video of remixed ‘Pardeshiya sab kehthe hai’ also helped her a lot in gaining popularity.

She often tried to attain popularity through negative publicity. Whether it’s her kissing with Mika Singh in a private party or unnatural comments to media, she has always been in news quite for a long time. She tried luck in Big Boss reality show of Colors Television and came 4^th. She made her singing debut in 2007 with the album ‘Super Girl’. Again she was in news when she hosted a reality show in NDTV imagine titled ‘Rakhi Ka Swayamwar’ in the year 2009. It was a fresh reality show and hence she gained popularity with this program. It was announced that she will choose her real life partner through this show. Since the show was related to her real life, it got much publicity and popularity and in the final episode she chose Elesh Parujanwala of Toronto as her life partner. But within months, due to personal indifferences couples parted and media even claimed that ‘her real marriage’ was just a drama played by her for the popularity of the TV show.

Now also she is busy with her stage performances and reality shows. Her recent movies include comedy Budda mil gaya, Gumnaam and Dil bole hadippa. Her famous item numbers are Mirchi of Chura liya humse, Kismat se chalthi of Maalamal lottery, Sayya re of Drona (Telugu).
