Raghuvannan Biography

Raghuvannan is a film actor associated with Tamil entertainment industry. He is the son of very popular character artist and film director of Tamil cinema, Manivannan. Raghuvannan played both lead and supporting roles on big screen, but remained unsuccessful. He shared screen space with his father for his 50th and last film as a director and actor, Nagaraja Cholan MA, MLA, the movie released just before Manivannan’s death on 15 June 2013. Exactly two months later on August 15, Raghuvannan lost his mother too. He never appeared in any movie later. Exact one month later on September 16, he married a Sri Lankan girl, Abigail and the couple has one son born in 2016.

Raghuvannan made an impressive debut in 2002 with the film, Maaran, in a parallel lead role. He worked with senior artists, Sathyaraj & Seetha in this film, who played his parents in this film, and Raghuvannan played the role of a first year medical college student. His role impressed the critics. Despite getting rave reviews for his debut film, his career failed to take off, and his movies one after another flopped at box office.

He played lead roles in Thamizh Desam & Thodakkam, and both these movies went unnoticed. He played supporting roles in Goripalayam and Nagaraja Cholan MA, MLA. After the unexpected death of his father soon after the release of Nagaraja Cholan MA, MLA, and also his mother two months later, he took a break from film scene. One month later he got married, and moved on. In 2015, he announced a project, the remake of his father’s successful film, Nooravathu Naal. He also started working on the script of the film, but the movie got delayed for some reason.
