Qazi Khaliluddin Biography

Qazi Khaliluddin was a religious scholar from Alwa, employed at a Risala. He tried to follow Shariah in his activities and known for his religious activities and friends’ circle. He was married to Safia Begum and their daughter, Haneefa Begum was married to f Qazi Khaliluddin, a famous Unani physician who practised Sufism as well. His first son, Maulvi Haji Halimuddin was Bay'ah with Shah Abu Ahmad Mujjadadi. He had 2 more children - Haji Kalimuddin, Bay'ah with Shah Mohammd Yaqub interested in literature and the last daughter, Rafiqa Khatoon. 'Khalil Manzil’ - a building at Jinsi Road, Jahangirabad is named after him.  

 

Qazi Khaliluddin was born in Alwar on 1878. He was employed at a mounted troop at Alwar State. In 1908 he left his job and reached Bhopal where he started business. Before starting business, he worked for a short time as an employee. In 1912, he went to Haj accompanied by Naziruddin, Saeedun Nisan and a few more people. He followed Shariah in his activities used to go to hear the public lecture regularly by Hafiz Abdul Aziz at Phuti Masjid in Bhopal. He also regularly attended the speeches of Pir Asadur Rahman Qudsi at Bagh Farhat Afza. As a religious person, he was also associated with Taskin Shah of 'Aish Bagh'.

 

Haji Mohammad Zubair Ali, Bhai Mian, Syed Basharat Ali, Hafiz Mohammad Yusuf Khan and Zahooruddin Alvi were his close friends. He got married to Safia Begum in 1880, at the age of 17 and the couple had two sons and two daughters. He died on 25 Muharram 1337 AH at Bhopal at the age of 42 years.
