Pushkar Shrotri Biography

Pushkar Shrotri is a Marathi cine personality known as an actor, director and producer. He is a well-known theatre artist too. As a filmmaker he is best known for directing the Marathi film, Ubuntu. He also produced this 2017 drama film, starring Sarang Sathye, Shashank Shende, Bhagyashri Sankpal and Umesh Jagtap. As a film actor, he predominantly worked in Marathi cinema, but was seen in two parts of Munnabhai Bollywood film series directed by Rajkumar Hirani - Munna Bhai M.B.B.S and Lage Raho Munna Bhai. He has appeared in half a dozen of Marathi TV shows, playing character roles. He directed two Marathi films.

Pushkar Sudhakar Shrotri, shortly called Pushkar Shrotri hails from Mumbai, Maharashtra. He graduated from M. L. Dahanukar College, Mumbai. He started his acting career in the 1990s with theater. In the late 1990s, he started appearing in television shows, and by mid-2000s, he became more active in Marathi cinema. He played the role of Professor in Murli's medical college in 2003 comedy film, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. Its director Rajkumar Hirani casted him its sequel, Lage Raho Munna Bhai released in 2006 too. Yet Pushkar preferred to remain active in Marathi cinema and television industry.

As a film actor, he excelled in comic roles, and his comic timing has been well appreciated. In the late 1990s, he appeared in Marathi shows - Hasa Chakatfu and Pimpalpaan both aired on ZEE Marathi, and later appeared in many shows of the same channel such as Avagha Chi Ha Sawsar, Avantika, Hum To Tere Ashiq Hai etc. In 2009 he marked his directorial debut with Haai Kaai Naay kaay, and he co-directed this movie aside Prasad Oak. Katyar Kaljat Ghusali, A Paying Ghost, Sata Lota Pan Sagla Khota, Rege etc are among his recent appearances on big screen.
