Punnagai Poo Gheetha Biography 
Punnagai Poo Gheetha is a Malaysian film and television personality, who works in Indian Tamil Film industry as well. She plays character roles in Tamil films and is also known as a film producer and radio jockey in Malaysia. Prior to launching her own production house, she worked as a radio jockey in THR Raaga. In the career spanning to one decade in film making, she has produced 8 Tamil films – 7 produced in India, while Maindhan in Malaysia. She often does cameo appearances in her movies.
In 2014 she produced Maindhan, Malaysian Tamil film thus winning the credit of first female film producer of Tamil cinema in Malaysia. She also portrayed a supporting role in the movie. The movie was released in Malaysia, Singapore and Tamil Nadu, and won critics’ appreciation. The movie was a box office hit and also emerged as the highest grossing locally produced Tamil film of all time in Malaysia.
She is a Malaysian, born in Taiping, Perak. Her father is a businessman who owns a plantation. Her professional career started off with television, where she hosted the show Rhythm And Raaga on NTV7, a Malaysian TV channel. When Malaysian Tamil radio station, THR Raaga was started she became a radio jockey and worked for many years. It was during her stint with THR Raaga, 'Punnagai Poo' tag got added to her name. In parallel, she produced ad films, tele films and started an advertising company called SG.
She came to India in 2005 and ventured into film production with the film - Arinthum Ariyamalum. She also played a cameo role of a conductor in the film, marking her screen debut. Later she produced the Indian Tamil movies - Kundakka Mandakka, Pattiyal, Narthagi, Oru Nadigaiyin Vaakkumoolam, Kaaval and Sivappu. She has been awarded with Edison Award in India for Best Overseas Artist.
