Priyanka Bose Biography

Priyanka Bose is a versatile actress of Bollywood who is active in theatre as well. She has been associated with several internationally acclaimed and award winning films. As an actress she is best known for playing the female lead in 2010 multilingual, Independent film – Gangor, an Italian production based on a Bangla short story by Mahasweta Devi. The movie later dubbed into Italian, was well received at 5th Rome International Film Festival and Priyanka’s work was well appreciated. She won the best actress award at the New Jersey Independent South Asian Film Festival for her power packed performance as a tribal woman.

She started her Bollywood career by doing small roles in movies like - Love Sex aur Dhokha, Sorry Bhai!, Johnny Gaddar and Guzaarish. In 2013, she appeared in an ad of Tanishq Jewellers, which went viral over net. She toured the world for the shows of the play ‘Nirbhaya’, based on the unfortunate gang rape in Delhi 2012. The play was scripted and directed by South African playwright Yael Farber and won numerous awards including Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award. The talented actress says, she never wants to accept dumb roles.

Though she started off with minor roles in Bollywood, later she got several meaty ones – the most notable one being Gulaab gang, where she worked with Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla. She played parallel lead in Bengali film, Shunyo Awnko, where she worked with the highly acclaimed actress - Konkona Sen Sharma. ‘Lion’ is her upcoming project. She also owns a production company, PaapiPet Pictures started by her which produces short films and music videos. She appeared in 2014 narrative feature film – Sold directed by Hollywood director Jeffrey D. Brown.
