Prem Prakash Biography

Prem Prakash is a Malayalam actor known for supporting and negative roles. He is the younger brother of famous villain of yesterdays – Jose Prakash. His sons – Bobby and Sanjay are currently the most successful screenwriters of Malayalam and their latest blockbuster hits include – Dhrishyam and How old are you? Apart from being a successful actor, he has also produced a few Malayalam movies. Koodevide, Akashadoothu, Johnnie Walker, Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum and Ayalum Njanum Thammil are his best movies as a producer. He has also produced and acted in a few Malayalam serials. He currently serves as the treasurer of Kerala Film Producers Association. He is married to Daisy Luke and the couple has three children.

He was born in 19 July 1943 in Kochi as the younger brother to Jose Prakash, the dominating villain of Malayalam screen in the 1970s. He completed graduation from CMS College Kottayam. He is married to Daisy Luke, former English professor from BCM College Kottayam. His first passion is singing and he entered films as a playback singer with the movie, Kaarthika in 1968, which starred Sathyan and Sarada in pivot roles.  Two years later he made his film debut as an actor through the highly acclaimed movie of Kottarakara, Ara nazhika Neram. Since then he has been associated with Malayalam cinema doing minor roles.

Peruvazhiyambalam in 1979 was his first movie as a producer. The movie launched the legendary screenwriter cum director of Malayalam cinema, Padmarajan and also the film actor Ashokan. Since then he established himself as a leading producer of Malayalam. Akashadooth released in 1992 was one of the biggest hits of his career. Biju Menon, Rahman, N F Varghese, Jyothirmayi and Gireesh Puthenchery are among the leading names who were introduced to big screen by this producer.
