Prashant Shah Biography

Prashant Shah is an Indian film producer and distributor, based in Los Angeles. He is the CEO and founder of Bollywood Hollywood Production Inc, a film production company, which mostly produces Hindi films. Most of his Bollywood films are shot in UK, India, Canada, United States and South America. His production company also works as a line producer in the industry. Hrithik Roshan starrer Bang Bang! and Shah Rukh Khan starrer My Name is Khan are the most successful films as a line producer. Shah was executive producer for the film Ra.One, starring SRK which was not commercially successful. He has also appeared in brief roles on screen.

 

Prashant Shah was into business and worked in different industries, before he started a film production and distribution company to produce Bollywood films of big stars. Most of his films are made on high budget and stars mega heroes like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan. Shah founded Bollywood Hollywood Production Inc. in 1999, and opened a UK branch in 2009. Over the years he has produced many high-budget films directed by ace Bollywood filmmakers like Karan Johar, Rakesh Roshan, Aditya Chopra etc.

 

In 2010 he received "Producer of the Year" by Senator Harry Reid and the Department of Commerce. He was honoured as ‘Mayor of Miami’ title in 2008. His film production company has served as the Executive Producer to Bollywood movies like Half Girlfriend, Reload etc and the TV show, MTV Roadies in 2012. He has also appeared in movies like Reload. Jungle Cry in 2019 is his most recent production venture, and it resulted in financial loss. As a line producer, he worked for the movies – Kites, My Name is Khan, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Jaan-E-Mann, Out of Control, Kurbaan etc.
