Pooja Sawant Biography

Pooja Sawant is a Marathi and Bollywood film actress. She made her debut in Sachit Patil's Marathi film Kshanbhar Vishranti in 2010. Since then she has appeared in more than a dozen of Marathi films as well as a few TV shows. She has made her appearance in Tv shows like Boogie Woogie, Jallosh Suvarnayugacha, Eka Peksha Ek Jodicha Mamla and also anchored the show, Wajale Ki Bara for ZEE Talkies. As a film actress, Junglee released in 2019 was her last screen appearance. She was paired with Vidyut Jammwal for this Bollywood action-adventure film directed by American filmmaker Chuck Russell. The movie opened to mixed reviews.

Pooja Sawant was born in Mumbai in year 1990. She schooled from Balmohan Vidyamandir, Mumbai and then graduated from SIWS College of Science and Commerce. She joined entertainment field as a contestant for a few talent hunt shows for television. She appeared in the dance show on Sony TV 'Boogie Woogie' and also Marathi Dance reality show ‘Eka Peksha Ek Jodicha Mamla’. Both these shows were related to dance skills. In 2008 she won 'Maharashtra Times Shrawanqueen' – a beauty pageant, which gave her first break to Marathi films.

Kshanbhar Vishranti in 2010 marked her screen debut in Marathi cinema, where she became a part of ensemble star cast. The movie also starred Bharat Jadhav, Sachit Patil, Sonalee Kulkarni, Siddarth Jadhav, Manwa Naik and Kadambari Kadam. After that she got more offers from Marathi cinema, and completed one decade in the industry. In 2011 she appeared in Zhakaas opposite Ankush Choudhary, and became a part of hit projects like Satrangi Re, Poshter Boyz etc. She is also regular in Marathi reality shows.
