Payal Ghosh Biography

Payal Ghosh is an Indian actress who works in movies and television shows. Started off with south Indian films in 2009, she marked her Bollywood debut with Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi in 2017, where she played the parallel lead. Prior to appearing in films, she was featured in English TV film for BBC, Sharpe's Peril, where she played a supporting role. In 2016 she moved to small screen, playing the antagonist Radhika in the popular soap drama, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. As per latest buzz in July 2018, she made it to the cover page of the most recent August edition of Femina magazine.

 

Payal Ghosh hails from Bengal and Kolkata is her hometown. Yet she earned fame and recognition through the roles she played in south Indian films, predominantly in Telugu language. She has also appeared in Tamil and Kannada films, and two Bollywood films before she moved to television. Her Bollywood film Freedom originally completed in 2014 is delayed for a release.

 

She marked her big screen debut through 2009 film, Prayanam, where she played female lead opposite Manoj Manchu. The film directed by Chandra Sekhar Yeleti received rave reviews from critics and was a box office hit. After that she became regular in south Indian cinema, accepting different language films except Malayalam. Oosaravelli and Mr. Rascal are her Telugu releases later.

 

Varshadhaare in 2010 marked her Kannada debut and her first Tamil film, Therodum Veedhiyile completed in 2014 has not released yet. After working in some south Indian films, she moved to Bollywood. She worked in a couple of Hindi films, and Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi got released in 2017. She shared screen space with veterans - Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal for the movie, and it also starred Jinal Belani and Vir Das in key roles.
