Pavan Wadeyar Biography

Pavan Wadeyar is a film actor, director and screenwriter who works in Kannada film industry. He marked his directorial debut in the year 2012 with the film, Govindaya Namaha which was highly acclaimed. He penned its lyrics too, marking his debut as a lyricist. He bagged 2012 SIIMA Best Debutant Director Award, and also 2012 Radio Mirchi Upcoming Lyricist of the year Award. Since then most of his films have been nominated at SIIMA and other film awards. Potugadu, Googly, Rana Vikrama, Jessie and Nataraja Service are his released movies later. His recent flick, Natasaarvabhowma is expected to release in 2018. He has also acted in a few Kannada movies and played male lead in Preethi Geethi Ityaadi in 2014.

Pavan Wadeyar was born on 10 December 1987 in Kunigal, Karnataka. He started his film journey in 2010, working as an assistant to Yogaraj Bhat in 2010 movie – Pancharangi. Two years later, he released his first film, Govindaya Namaha starring Komal Kumar, Anna Georgia, Madhulika, Rekha Vedavyas and Parul Yadav in the lead roles. The film opened to positive reviews, and he bagged SIIMA Best Debutant Director and Radio Mirchi Upcoming Lyricist of the year Award. The following year he remade the same film to Telugu titled, Potugadu.

In 2013, he released his second Kannada film, Googly which bagged both SIIMA Best Director award and best lyricist award. His third Kannada film, Rana Vikrama (2015), received three nominations including 2016 Filmare Awards and SIIMA Awards for Best Director, and also best lyricist award at Filmfare. He continued making successful films in Kannada, and his next venture Jessie was nominated for 2017 SIIMA Awards for Best Director. Pavan Wadeyar has excelled as both film director and lyricist in the industry.
