Parno Mittra Biography

Parno Mittra is a Bengali film and television actress from Kolkata. Her debut movie, Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona directed by Anjan Dutt was her breakthrough to film industry, in which she portrayed the lead role of Ranjana who dreams to become a singer. The film won three national film awards in 2011, thus giving a big break to her acting career. She received Star Guide Award for the same movie. Later she appeared in movies like Apur Panchali, Maach Mishti & More, Bedroom, Dutta Vs Dutta, Ami Aar Amar Girlfriends and Koyekti Meyer Golpo. She also played roles in Bangla television serials like Bou Katha Kou, Somoy, Khela and Mohana.

Mittra was born on 31 October 1989 in Siliguri, West Bengal. Her schooling was done at Pratt Memorial School, Kolkata and later completed graduation in English from St. Xaviers College Kolkata. Her hobbies are to listen to Bengali folk songs and Rabindra Sangeet. She is also fond of Najrul giti. Megan Fox and Selena Gomez are her favourite actresses whom she sees as idols. She played lead role in Bengali TV serial Mohona in Zee Bangla before landing to film world. She has also enacted in a small role in a Hind film Ghat.

Before working with Anjan Dutta in Ranjana Ami Ar Asbo Na, she has worked with him in one telefilm. Anjan Dutta's son Neil Dutta is a good friend of Parno who helped her a lot during the initial years of her acting career. In her second movie, Bedroom she played the role of an unhappy woman who disturbs others with silly complaints. This movie too was a commercial success, thus placing her name among the leading actors of the industry.
