Palam Kalyanasundaram Biography

Palam Kalyanasundaram – The man of Millennium from Tamil Nadu is best known for his charity and social services. He has been a librarian by profession for long 30 years till his retirement. He was honored as the Man of Millennium by an American association. Deeply touched by his social service for giving all his personal belongs and savings for charity purposes, he was adopted as father by the Tamil legendary actor – Rajnikanth. He is a gold medalist in library science and also holds masters in literature and history.

 

Palam Kalyanasundaram hails from Palam, Tamil Nadu. Since young he was inspired and motivated by his mother to follow a path dedicated to social service. He lost his father at a tender age. He completed his master’s in literature and history. He acted the role of a librarian for 30 years, and also worked as a waiter in a hotel in a deal of 2 meals a day and some salary. He served his company effortlessly and donated his entire monthly salary to the orphans. Perhaps he might be the first person in the world to give his whole salary for the benefit of others. He continued this process till his retirement, and never got married. After retirement he donated his monthly pension to the needy orphans.

 

His efforts as a social worker was identified and recognized by an American organization. However he contributed the whole sum of 30 crores towards the benefit of orphans. He has been recognized among the top 10 librarians in the world. He was also awarded the best librarian in India, by the Union Government. This great personality believes that nothing more fulfilling than being able to donate money for charity out of your own earnings.
