Phoolbasan Bai Yadav Biography 
Phoolbasan Bai Yadav is an Indian social worker from Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. She founded an NGO, Maa Bamleshwari Janhit Kare Samiti aimed at the development of economically and socially backward women of Chhattisgarh. For her overall contributions towards the field of social work, he has been honoured with fourth civilian honour Padma Shri by government of India in 2012. Zee TV Astithva Award, Minimata Alankaran Award, Jamnalal Bajaj Award, Mahaveer Foundation Award, Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Award etc are a few more honours received by her.
Phoolbasan Bai Yadav was born on 5 December 1969 in Sukuldaihan, Dhangaon, Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. She belonged to a socially backward family, which a lot of financial crisis. She was only 10 when she got married. Thus she could study only till class 7. She began taking part in the activities of the self-help groups in the district, and slowly turned a full-time social worker. When she turned a social worker, it was not approved by her husband who used to beat her for her late comings at home.
She also formed small groups such as Pragya Mahila Samooh, Kiraya Bhandar, Bazar Theka etc aiding small helps to the society in the form of food, shelter, monetary fund etc. Later she brought all these organizations under a common roof, and started the NGO, Maa Bamleshwari Janhit Karya Samiti. Mostly aimed for women, now it covers 12000 women self-help groups, engaged in social activities like Health programs, education, sanitation and social reforms. It also opened schools and anganwadis, and provides food to poor people. The organization has been named the brand ambassador for female foeticide by the Government of Rajasthan. Now at the age of 50+, she is fully active as a social worker.
