Faridul Haq Ansari Biography 
Faridul Haq Ansari, also addressed as Farid Ansari, was a lawyer and politician associated with freedom struggle movement. He was a prominent socialist leader too, and served two terms as Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha. He lived during the period, 1 July 1895 – 4 April 1966. He was one of the prominent and early members of Ansari family. Now the fourth generation of Ansari family from UP is into politics, associated with Bahujan Samaj Party. His great-grandnephews - Abbas Ansari and Umar Ansari are the youngest members of his family, currently associated with regional politics.
Faridul Haq Ansari was born in 1895 in Yusufpur, Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh. His father Nezamul Haq Ansari was a zamindar. He completed his higher studies from Oxford University and was a lawyer by profession. He started practicing as lawyer at Delhi High Court in 1925. Two years later he joined Indian national congress and freedom struggle movement. His cousin Mukhtar Ahmed Ansari was also associated with Congress party and freedom struggle movement. He was one of the prominent leaders of Quit India Movement who was sent to jail during 1942–1945. He was jailed many other times too. After India's independence he joined Socialist party. In 1952, he became the member of Praja Socialist Party.
His grandnephews - Afzal Ansari, Mukhtar Ansari & Sibakatullah Ansari and his great-grandnephews - Abbas Ansari and Umar Ansari are political leaders affiliated to Bahujan Samaj Party. His grandnephew Afzal Ansari currently serves as a parliamentarian in the 17th Lok Sabha. Mohammad Hamid Ansari - retired Indian Foreign Service officer, and 12th Vice President of India and Shaukatullah Shah Ansari, an Indian politician and diplomat are some other influential members of Ansari family.
