P. S. Keerthana Biography 
P. S. Keerthana is a Tamil film actress, best known for playing the pivot role of young Amudha in National award winning Mani Ratnam movie - Kannathil Muthamittal. For her outstanding performance in the film, she received universal praise and National award for best child artist. She played the adopted daughter of Madhavan and Simran, on a mission to meet her biological mother Nandita Das in the movie. The movie bagged six National Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards South and Best Film awards at six international film festivals. Keerthana is the daughter of famous Tamil actors R. Parthiban and Seetha.
She was born in 17 August 1992 in Chennai. She was only 9 years old when she got the big break to movies. The offer was given by the ace film maker Mani Ratnam, who is known for making movies with themes on terrorism and patriotism. Keerthana excelled in the pivot role she played. A. R. Rahman composed many memorable songs for the movie and the title track - "Kannathil Muthamittal" pictured on her was a huge chartbuster. The song was pictured twice with male and female tracks.
Keerthana did the movie taking leave from school and never appeared on screen later. She continued with her studies, though received many offers including one Japanese film. She has now completed graduation in Visual Communications in Loyola College in Nungambakkam in Chennai. Though started off as a child artist, she wants to become a director. When she started dreaming so, she thought of making a kids’ movie or animation movie. She also learns Hindustani music, piano and guitar. She also learnt ballet and hip hop.
