Navnindra Behl Biography 
Navnindra Behl is a noted theater artist from Delhi. She is known as a theatre and television director, writer and actor. She produced and directed Vijji Amma, a documentary of the life of social activist Vijji Srinivasan for Films Division, Mumbai and Rangmanch Ke Teen Rang, a documentary on Folk Theatre Forms of North India. Dhund, Hanera te Jugnu is another documentary film produced and directed by Behl. Bruhon Paar Na Jayin, Sadda Jaggon Seer Mukkeya, Naun Baran Dus, Kashmir Diary, Razayi, Bandmaster, Bhabi Maina, Kumaraswami, Saanp, Bagula Bhagat, Daldal and Baaki Itihas are the stage plays directed by Behl. She has also appeared in many television serials belonging to Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi and has also published a few books.
Navnindra Behl is the eldest daughter of dramatist and theatre personality Kapur Singh Ghumman. She was born as Narinderjeet Ghumman, 30 October 1949. Her husband Lalit Behl is also a theatre and television persoanlity. Their son Kanu Behl is a film writer and director. Behl started stage acting when she was just three years old and regularly participated in stage shows since school days. Later she got involved in amateur theater at Patiala. She holds post-graduation in Punjabi literature. After studies she joined Drama Department of Punjabi University, Patiala as a lecturer. She started writing and directing numerous plays.
During 1980’s and 1990’s, she regularly appeared in television serials of Doordarshan and has also scripted a few works. She has more than 30 years’ experience in the industry. She has also portrayed supporting roles in Bollywood movies like Maachis, Gubaare and Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! She has been member on the selection panels of UPSC (for theatre & media) and has also served as a board member of many literal organizations.
