Mallika Sarabhai Biography 
Mallika Sarabhai is an Indian social activist and classical dancer of Ahmedabad in Gujarat in India. She is the daughter of the classical dancer Mrinalini Sarabhai and the famous space scientist Vikram Sarabhai. She was born on 9th May 1954 in and is a famous Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam dancer.
She finished her MBA from IIM Ahmadabad in the year 1974 and obtained doctorate in organizational behavior from Gujarat University in 1976. She is a good choreographer and dancer and has also acted in some Hindi and Gujarati films.
She learned dancing when she was young and started her film career at her age of 15. She played the role of Draupadi in the play The Mahabharata. She got the Golden Star Award and won the Best Dance Soloist in the Theatre De Champs Elysees in Paris in 1977. She manages the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts with her mother.
She dated with men during her college days and even went to live-in relationship. She met Bipin Shah and married him. They have two children a son named Revanta and a daughter Anahita. However they divorced after seven years. Together with Bipin she founded Mapin Publishing in 1984 and run it together.
She performed the theatrical work Shakti: The Power of Women in 1989 and she directed and acted in many productions. She wrote script for the play Unsuni which was directed by Arvind Gaur later on. She acted in the The Good Person of Szechwan in 2009 directed by Arvind Gaur. She contested in the 2009 elections against L K Advani in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency and lost.
She received Padma Bhushan award in 2010, Crystal Award by World Economic Forum in 2008 and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Creative Dance and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005.
