Navni Parihar Biography
Navni Parihar is an Indian film and television actress, associated with Bollywood and Hindi serials.
She has been active in small screen since 1990s with Doordarshan and has also appeared in some
television commercials. She is portraying character roles on big screen for more than two decades as
well. She portrayed the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Shekhar Kapoor documentary
series Pradhanmantri and 7 RCR. Tanu Weds Manu, Zindagi Khoobsoorat Hai, Corporate, Papa kehte
hain, Shararat, Lucky: No Time for Love, Page 3, Dil pardesi ho gaya and Hulchul (1995) are her noted
Bollywood appearances.
Navni Parihar is one of Indian television's finest discoveries. Mujrim Hazir Ho, Dastaan, Babul Ka
Aangann Chootey Na and Bani - Ishq Da Kalma are other noted mini screen roles. Currently she performs
in Bani - Ishq Da Kalma. Her outstanding performance in Baani-Ishq Da Kalma helped her to bag many
awards and appreciations. She took a break from television industry after her noted appearance in
Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na in 2009. She returned back to small screen with Star Plus’ Sajda Tere
Pyaar Mein, where she portrayed the character role of Shaleen Bhanot’s mother. She plays title role in
Gurbani.
As a newcomer to small screen, she faced her first shot with legendary actors Nutan and Utpal Dutt.
Mujrim Hazir was her debut work, aired on Doordarshan 20 years back. She essayed the character of
Indira Gandhi in ABP's Idea Of India – the first Indian historical series based on politics. Surendra Pal,
Shishir Sharma, Anang Desai and Prithvi Zutshi are other veterans who acted in this series.
