Navin Prabhakar Biography

Navin Prabhakar is a stand-up comedian, singer, actor and a mimicry artist. He is most known for his Pehchan Kaun act on The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, aired during the year 2005. He has also hosted the show Hello Kaun? Pehchaan Kaun during the period 2008-2009. He has also appeared in Rakhi Sawant's show "Ghazab Desh Ki Ajab Kahaaniyan”. He is also a voice over artist and has also done playback singing for a few movies. Title track of Traffic signal and "Chal Na Che Shor Machlein - Instrumental" for Dhamaal are a couple of Bollywood songs. In 2010, he appeared in lead role in Bhavnao Ko Samjho and has also appeared in a few movies in supporting role.

After graduating in Commerce from Mumbai University, Navin began his career as a singer. Then he slowly moved to acting roles and mimicry artist roles. He became immensely popular as a stand-up comedian and appeared in many television shows as a comedian to entertain audience. It was through his experiments that he found that he was able to make people laugh. He tried it on big platform through the program ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ in 2005 which made him immensely popular. His trade-mark expression “Paichan Kon” of “Julie – the bar girl” in the program needs special mention.

Later he appeared as television host and actor for several roles. He is a successful voiceover artist too and has done movies, “Mohabbat Ho Gayi Hai Tumse”, “Maine Dil Tujhko Diya”, “Nehle Pe Dehla”, “Champion” and “Ara Ara Aaba, Aata Tari Thamba”. He has also done voiceover for the song “Dhagala lagli kala” and remixed version of Adnan Sami’s Lift karade. His first private album as a singer is Pehchan Kaun. Now he travels worldwide with comedy shows and often becomes a part of charity programs worldwide.
