Naveen Krishna Biography

Naveen Krishna is a noted actor and director associated with Kannada cinema. He started off his career as a child actor, later moved to supporting and lead roles and directed a few movies in Kannada as well. Shrirasthu Shubhamasthu in the year 2000 marked his debut as an adult actor. Kadamba (2004), Nenapirali (2005), Dheemaku (2008) and Mathond Madhuvena (2011) are some of his early roles in supporting role, and he played several lead roles before foraying into film direction field for small screen. He is married to popular south actress Bhavana since January, 2018.

Naveen was born in Bangalore, Karnataka into a filmy family. His father Srinivasa Murthy is a very popular actor of yesterdays, who works in television industry too. His mother’s name is Pushpa. He has three siblings and his brother Nitil Krishna is also a film actor. To try his luck in the industry, Naveen Krishna has changed his name several times. According to numerology, he changed his name to Akshay Krishna and later S. S. Krishna, and now has reverted both these changes to his original name.

Naveen started off his career as a child artist in 1982, and Parajitha is his debut film. He played child artist’s roles in some films of 1980s such as Mathru Devo Bhava, and took a break from the industry to return back as an adult through Shrirasthu Shubhamasthu in the year 2000. He stayed in the industry playing supporting roles and changing names to rediscover himself. After a few initial struggles, he succeeded as a lead actor and made his directorial debut as well. Haggada Kone (2014) and Actor (2016) are his noted films in lead role, and he has announced one project, which has been delayed. He has directed three television shows for Kannada television.
