Narelle Kheng Biography

Narelle Kheng is a Singapore-based, actress and singer who appears in Indian Tamil movies. She is a member of local band The Sam Willows, who serves as bass guitarist and vocalist. Her brother Benjamin Kheng is also a band member, who serves as a vocalist and he is known as an actor too. She played parallel lead in 2016 Tamil romantic comedy film, Parandhu Sella Vaa directed by Dhanapal Padmanaban. The movie was set in Singapore. It was the first movie of Luthfudeen, veteran actor Nassar’s son, in a lead role, and she shared screen space with Aishwarya Rajesh also. In the movie she portrayed the character of Min Yuan, when Salony Luthra opted out of the film.

Her full name is Narelle Kheng Song Yi. She was born on September 24, 1993 in Singapore. She is a former athlete who has been a swimmer, and participated in games till national level. She later went to the Singapore Sports School with her brother, Benjamin Kheng, and the pair joined national youth swimming team. She started her training in swimming since the age of 6. She completed her schooling and college studies from Singapore itself. She is interested in acting and singing, and has turned successful in both these fields. She, along with her brother Benjamin Kheng form apart of famous Singapore based music band, The Sam Willows.

She started her debut with Indian films in 2013. Before that she has been a part of television shows, playing lead and supporting roles. Zero Calling and Against The Tide, Do It Yourself and Lifespam are her noted television roles. She played female lead in Lifespam. She also hosts shows. As a stage performer, she has already toured Malaysia and parts of America, and performed at events including F1 Singapore Grand Prix and Celebrating SG50 Countdown.
