Narayani Shastri Biography

Narayani Shastri is a very popular and well-established actress of small screen and a stage artist. She became immensely popular among Indian audience through Ekta Kapoor's television sagas like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Piya ka ghar and Kkusum. Phir Subah Hogi, Twinkle Beauty Parlour, Mamta, Koi apna sa and Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann are other noted works. She played female protagonist in numerous television serials and entertained Indian ‘female’ audience. She has also participated in a few reality shows like Nach Baliye 2, Zara Nachke Dikha and Meethi Choori No 1.

She made her small screen debut through Kahani Saat Pheron Ki on Doordarshan and has won numerous awards for her acting potential. She played female protagonist Rimchim in ‘Piya Ka Ghar’, Mamta in ‘Mamta’ and supporting role Kesar, Smriti Irani’s sister in the longest running television series - Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She also played negative role in Kkhusum. She has also appeared in a couple of Bollywood films - Na Ghar Ke Na Ghaat Ke, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Pak Pak Pakaak and Chandini Baar in supporting roles. She has also appeared in a few theater productions like `Ghulam`, `Begum` and `Badshah`.

Narayani was born in Pune on April 16, 1978 to a doctor. She was born in a big amily of five sisters and one brother. She completed her education at Symbiosis College in Pune and also joined Government Law College, Mumbai. She made her television debut through DD 1 - Kahani Saat Pheron Ki. But Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was her first daily soap in which she played the meaty role of Kesar, Tulsi’s sister. This single role played a prominent role in establishing her as a popular face on small screen. Kabhie Na Kabhie and Beauty Parlour made her an established actress of small screen.
