Nandana (actress) Biography

Nandana is a former actress who worked in Malayalam and Tamil movies in the 2000s. She has played lead and supporting roles in many movies in the early 2000s. She marked her film debut with Malayalam film Snehithan in 2002, where she played the parallel lead role of Malavika, aside Kunchacko Boban and Preetha Vijayakumar. After that she was associated with movies till 2006 and said good bye to film industry before she settled with family life. She is married to Tamil actor Manoj Bharathiraja, son of Tamil director P Bharathiraja. Tamil actress Anjali Aneesh Upasana is her first cousin.

 

Nandana hails from Thiruvannur of Kozhikode, Kerala. She marked her film debut in 2002 movie, Snehithan opposite Kunchacko Boban. But the movie was not a big success. Then she was seen in Swapnam Kondu Thulabharam, released the following year and she shared screen space with Kunchacko Boban once again. The ensemble cast also included Suresh Gopi and Shrutika in pivot roles. Nandana essayed the parallel lead role of Kalyani in the movie. Despite having a good star cast, the movie flopped at box office.

 

With two flops in a row, she moved to Tamil. She shared screen space with Dushyanth Ramkumar and Sonia Agarwal for the movie, Success in 2003. She played parallel lead in this film. But ‘Success’ movie was a failure at box office. She tasted success in her career for the first time through Sethurama Iyer CBI co-starring Mammootty and she was also seen in Malayalam movies - Chathikkatha Chanthu in a cameo role and Kalyana Kurimanam. She worked in three movies in Tamil and got married to her co-star Manoj Bharathiraja in 2006. They worked together in Saadhuriyan. After marriage she quit films.
