Nanda Kishore Biography

Nanda Kishore is a film director and screenwriter who works in Kannada cinema, best known for the films - Victory (2013) and Adyaksha (2014). Nanda Kishore is the son of Kannada film actor Sudhir, and Malati. His brother Tharun Sudhir is also an actor in Kannada cinema. Till now he has completed 5 films as a director, and his fifth film, Tiger is slated to release this 2017. He also makes cameo appearance in any one song sequence of his directorial ventures. He is mostly associated with comedy genre movies and is successful.

Nanda Kishore hails from Bangalore, Karnataka. He was born into a family with strong filmy background. He is the son of Kannada film actor Sudhir, a popular Sandalwood villain of 1980 and 1990’s and obviously Kishore too entered films following the footsteps of his father. During his early days, he struggled with obesity problems. Nanda ballooned to 204 kgs and lost almost 76 kgs to come out of this problem. He has appeared in around 35 films in small roles, and his obesity was the hindrance to get him good roles.

Soon after the death of his father, he went to depression for almost 2 years. He even hesitated to step into his house. To bring him out of this, his mother got me involved with her drama troupe Karnataka Kalavaibhava Sangha. He worked with the troupe for 8 years. He started with the film Uyyale as an assistant director and went onto work on many more films.

He made his directorial debut with Victory in 2013. Victory, a comedy, saw him laugh all the way to the bank. The movie starring Sharan and Asmita Sood was a box office hit. The movie was inspired from 1995 Kannada movie Ganeshana Galate which itself was based on Hollywood film, The Odd Job. His second film, Adyaksha (2014) was a remake of Tamil film Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, and was a box office hit.
