Namrata Thapa Biography

Namrata Thapa is a noted film and television actress. In 2015 she was seen in Salman Khan starrer, Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, where she was seen in a small role of a manager at an NGO with which Sonam Kapoor is associated with. Golmaal, I love you and Knockout are a few among the character roles she played on big screen. She has also played noted character roles for the television soaps - Stree Teri Kahaani, Jhilmil Sitaaron ka Aangan Hoga, Koi Hai and Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli. She rose to fame after the portrayal of her character in Zee TV's popular show Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli. She is married to her co-star Soumik Rao since February 14, 2014.

She was born in Delhi in 1986. She graduated from Delhi University and currently stays in Mumbai. Koi Hai on Star Plus marked her acting debut.  She started modelling since she stayed in Delhi and she did this role during that time. She started modelling at Delhi at the age of 16 and moved to Mumbai two and a half years later. Very soon she bagged a role in Vaidehi... Ek Aur Agni Pareeksha, followed by Stree Teri Kahaani, Kahiin To Hoga, Mera Naam Karegi Roshan, Naaginn..Wadon ki Agnipariksha, Jhilmil Sitaaron ka Aangan Hoga' Badalte Rishton ki Daastan, Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye, Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Khel, Tum Aise Hi Rehna etc.

Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli was her major break, where she was paired with Sameer Dharmadhikari. In between she played cameo and bit roles in Bollywood films and other regional language films. She has been successfully paired with Ravi Kissen for several Bengali and Bhojpuri films. Her Oriya movie, 143 was also a major hit. After playing several positive roles on screen, the actress is now keen to experiment with her roles and wants to do a negative role.
