Nadia Moidu Biography

Nadia Moidu is an Indian actress who is has acted in films of Malayalam and Tamil language. She was very active during 1980s and 1990s. After her marriage she took a break and reentered film industry in the year 2004.

Nadia Moidu’s original name was Zareena Anosha Moidu. She entered the film industry as an actress through the Malayalam film Nokketha Doorathu Kannum Nattu in 1984. Her debut film in Tamil was Poove Poochudava and this was the remake of her first movie in Malayalam which also won her Filmfare Award. Both of these movies went on to be blockbusters and earned her a big fan base both in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

She married Shirish Godbole and stayed away from film industry for quite sometimes. She has two children Sanam born in 1996 and Jana born in 2001. She settled abroad with her family and after few years returned India and settled down at Mumbai.

The film M. Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi marked her reentry and this film was a megahit earning her name and fame again. She portrayed the character of the mother of Jeyam Ravi and was critically acclaimed for her performance.

Some of her notable films include Kandu Kandarinju, Onningu Vannengil, Poove Poochudava, Panchagni, Koodum Thedi, Nilave Malare, Unakkaagavae Vaazhgiren, Pavazha Malligai, Paadu Nilave, Chinna Thambi Periya Thambi, Mangai Oru Gangai, Iniya Uravu Poothathu, En Veedu En Kanavar, Rajakumaran, Irandil Ondru, Anbulla Appa, Poongkaatru Puthithaanathu, M. Kumaran Son Of Mahalakshmi, Sandai, etc.

She also shows up in many television commercials and has signed as the brand ambassador for Arokya Milk and Thangamayil Jewelry in 2008. She also hosts the television show in Jaya TV named Jackpot.
