Mushtaq Shiekh Biography

Mushtaq Shiekh is a Bollywood screenwriter, actor and producer. Known for his successful association with King Khan in many movies, he wrote the script of Shah Rukh movies such as the screenplay of Ra.One, Om Shanti Om and Billu. Among these three films, Om Shanti Om remained a blockbuster hit, while the rest two fared average at box office with limited success. Rangrezz, Supari, Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3, Mastizaade etc are a few more works as a screenwriter. He worked as an associate producer in Bollywood, and his most recent film, Mulq (2018) fared well at box office. He also wrote scripts for television shows. He is an author too, who writes books and columns related to Hindi cinema.

Mushtaq Shiekh was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Known for his association and friendly relationship with Shah Rukh khan in Bollywood film industry, he worked with Khan in a series of Bollywood projects as screenwriter and also authored the biography of Shahrukh Khan titled Still Reading Khan. Thus he is also an author. He also wrote books on making of Shah Rukh movies such as Devdas, Asoka and Om Shanti Om.

Apart from his film journey, he also owns a successful career in television. In fact he worked with television before he turned busy with cine world. He has worked with television channel Sahara One as a creative director, and wrote many television scripts too. As a script writer he marked his debut with Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii in 2000. This drama series of Balaji Telefilms, produced by Ekta Kapoor was indeed popular. Later he wrote soap dramas such as Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat, Kahiin to Hoga, K. Street Pali Hill etc.
