Murtaza Ali Khan Biography

Murtaza Ali Khan is a film critic and journalist who also serves as film editor of Café Dissensus, a New York-based magazine. He also writes film reviews for several Indian magazines. He reviews films for The Sunday Guardian right now. His columns appear on DailyO, Huffington Post India, Newslaundry and The Quint. He has been active in this field since 2010. Apart from writing reviews and other forms of articles, he also interviews celebrities which include both Indian and foreign. He has also taken part in many film discussions for AIR and other platforms.

Murtaza Ali Khan hails from Delhi. He was born on 25 February 1988. His education was completed from Jamia Millia Islamia, and has been active in the field of journalism since 2010. After completing his studies, he worked in corporate sector for a while. Later he identified his true passion towards films, and started writing columns related to films in several online publications, and he mainly wrote reviews. He has contributed reviews to Dear Cinema, Frontier Weekly, Desimartini and Jamuura. He turned a full-time film critic by 2015, and has been active in the field since then.

Currently he contributes features and to the interview section for The Hindu. He also serves as Film Editor for the New York-based magazine Café Dissensus since 2018. He also shares his views on several topics on changing scenario of Indian cinema in different platforms. He often appears as a celebrity guest for TV shows. He has been a part of several panel discussions related to films and served as the member of the jury for 1st FISFA – International Film and Arts Festival.
