Mukti Mohan is a well-established contemporary dancer who has done item numbers in Bollywood films. She has also participated in a few reality shows on television such as Zara Nachke Dikha, where she was a member of the winning team - 'Masakkali Girls'. She has three sisters of whom two are popular in the Hindi entertainment industry. Her sister Neeti Mohan is a successful playback singer who became a youth sensation after the songs – Jiya Jiya Re of Jab Tak Hain Jaan and Ishqwala Love of The Student of the Year. Her second sister Shakti Mohan is a well-established contemporary dancer and a TV actress.

She was born in Mumbai on 21 June 1987. She is the youngest of four siblings. Two of her sisters are well-established stars of Indian entertainment industry. While Neeti Mohan is a successful playback singer, Shakti Mohan is a dancer. Mukti too earned name and fame as a successful dancer. She became extremely popular through the reality shows on television. She was seen for the first time on mini screen for the dancing reality show, Zara Nachke Dikha (2010) where she was a team member of the winning team.

In 2013 she appeared in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (season 6). She also tried comedy with the show, Comedy Circus Ka Jadoo on Sony TV channel with Kapil Sharma. She was featured in the song, 'Teriyaan Tu Jaane' by Amit Trivedi in the fourth season of Coke Studio. She has done item songs for the movies, Hate Story, Kaanchi: The Unbreakable, Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster and also the short film - Blood Brothers directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. She was seen in the catchy I Love to Love You item number in Sahib, Biwi aur Gangster. She’s not a trained dancer and her sister Shakti is her best critic.
