Monica Biography 
Monica is an Indian film actress who concentrates in Tamil film industry. She entered Indian film industry as a child artist and then appeared in many supporting roles and slowly evolved into a heroine. She is at present living in Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
Monica was born on 25th August 1987 in Erode in Tamil Nadu. Her original name was Rekha Maruthiraj. Her father’s name is Maruthiraj and her mother’s name is Gracy. Her father is a Hindu and her mother is a Christian and her mother tongue is Tamil. She is affectionately called as Moni. She entered the film industry when she was seven years old in 1990 through the Tamil film Avasara Police 100. Her debut film in Malayalam as a child artist, Uncle Bun won her name and fame.
She has done more than 40 films as child artist. Some of the films that she had acted in child character are Avasara Police 100, Uncle Bun, Brahma, Chanti, Endrum Anbudan, Pandiyan, Varavu Ettana Selavu Pathana, Sakkarai Devan, En Aasai Machan, Sathi Leelavathi, etc. Among them her film En Aasai Machan won her Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Child Star.
She reentered the film industry in adult role in 2001 and performed in films of various languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Sinhala. Some of the films she has acted include Siva Rama Raju, Bagavathi, Bandha Paramasivam, Kanninum Kannadikkum, Koduku, Are, Daas, Sandakozhi, Imsai Arasan 23m Pulikesi, Thodakkam, Silandhi, A Aa E Ee, Muthukku Muthaaga, Gowravargal, Nanjupuram, Varnam, etc.
In 2014, she converted to Islam, changing her name to M. G. Rahima, and announced that she had quit acting.
