Mona Shourie Kapoor Biography

Mona Shourie Kapoor was a film producer associated with Bollywood. She was the first wife of film producer Boney Kapoor who legally separate with her to marry Bollywood’s lead heroine Sridevi in 1996. Popular actor of present times, Arjun Kapoor is her son. The couple had one more child, Anshula Kapoor. Popular actor Anil Kapoor was her brother-in-law and film producer Surendra Kapoor, her father-in-law. Popular Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor and film producer Rhea Kapoor are her nieces. She passed away in 2012 just before her son’s debut movie, Ishaqzaade got released and became a commercial hit and won acclamations.

Mona Shourie Kapoor was born on 3 February 1964 in Delhi. She married Bollywood film producer Boney Kapoor in 1983 and had two children – Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor. At present Arjun is a leading Bollywood actor while Ansula is working with google. After splitting from Boney Kapoor in 1996, Mona continued to live with her in-laws. Both the children also stayed with her, following her ex-husband’s marriage with actress Sridevi in 1996. Arjun never accepted Sridevi as his step-mother, rather he loved to remember her as a good actress of Bollywood, till her unexpected death happened in 2018. Later he supported his step-sisters.

During her lifetime, Mona Kapoor was the CEO of Future Studios, the biggest indoor shooting studio in Mumbai. She successfully handled the manpower for 'Business Aids' & 'Machine Exports' and served as its co-partner. She also served as production co-ordinator for a few Bollywood films in the 1980s and later. She produced successful television shows like Hera Pheri, Yug, Kaise Kahoon etc. She battled with cancer and hypertension for a long time and passed away in 2012, aged only 48.
