Milap Zaveri Biography

Milap Zaveri is a noted film director and screenwriter associated with Bollywood cinema. Zaveri became popular for his adult comedies. He started his career as a dialogue writer in 2002 with the film Yeh Mohabbat Hai, and made his directorial debut with the fantasy film Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai in 2010, starring Ritesh Deshmukh and Jacqueline Fernandez. The movie also starred many Bollywood celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Priyanka Chopra and Amrita Rao in special appearances. But it flopped at box office. He later directed two more films – adult comedy, Mastizaade in 2016 starring Sunny Leone and action film Satyameva Jayate in 2018 starring John Abraham. He remained in limelight during the release of both these films. Satyameva Jayate became a huge hit at box office, despite getting mixed reviews.

His full name is Milap Milan Zaveri. He started his career as a dialogue writer in Bollywood in the early 2000s. Yeh Mohabbat Hai in 2002 was his first movie as a dialogue writer, which flopped at box office. But his work in his next project, Amitabh Bachchan starrer Kaante got noticed. Jhankaar Beats, Masti, Kyun! Ho Gaya Na..., Musafir, Lucky: No Time for Love, Home Delivery: Aapko... Ghar Tak, Heyy Babyy, Woodstock Villa, Housefull, Desi Boyz, Shootout at Wadala, Grand Masti, Main Tera Hero, Ek Villain, Ungli, Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3, Hate Story 4 etc are some of his noted works as a dialogue writer.

His association with adult comedies, either as a dialogue writer or film director has always been discussion. He wrote dialogues for sex comedies like Masti, Grand Masti, Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 and also directed Sunny Leone-starrer Mastizaade, which received wide protests, and also faced issues with censor board resulting in a delayed release. After Mastizaade tanked at box office, the director has finally decided not to do adult comedies after that.
